On Wednesday, Remi and the kids traveled to Emerald Isle to visit Remi's second cousin Stan and Betty and their 14-week-old Norfolk Terrier, Scruffy.
Finn was a fan of Scruffy.
Crusoe was not so sure at first.
We swam in their pool.
And had a lovely seafood lunch.
On Thursday, (MB's final day of workshops), we had a ball at the Children's Museum of Wilmington.
We designed and built ramps for balls to roll down.
We painted.
We played dentist.
(Oddly enough, one of Crusoe's favorite make-believe games at home is playing 'dental hygienist': he'll say, "Open up, I'm the hygienist. Let me clean your teeth." For real.)
We played in this amazing sand that was more like clay and didn't stick to our hands.
They both drove a school bus!
...and then drove a Mercedes.
We tried on costumes.
"I'm ready to go, Spiderman! Sorry to keep you waiting."
"We're on exercise bikes!"
Finn and Crusoe filled watering cans...
...and watered...
...and watered...
...and watered all the plants and flowers...
...they could find.
Finn found a little broom and swept up, one of her favorite activities.
Afterwards, we met Maribeth and drove down to Carolina Beach Boardwalk for dinner and rides.
The Dragon Boat
Crusoe was a little apprehensive, but enjoyed it.
Finn was a little more nervous.
Checking to make sure the train is hooked up properly.
We ended the night with an ice cream cone.
Another day of exhaustion.
