A rainy day outing & mealtime

Yum... blueberries!

Crusoe is now very interested in feeding himself... although he doesn't quite yet have the fine motor skills to do so effectively and efficiently.  He does, however, have what we call 'ninja hands' which can reach amazing distances at astounding speeds and grab items (usually bowls or cups full of some liquid or viscous food substance) that were previously out of reach.

He likes to chew on large chunks of ripe pear, cheerios he can eat one by one, bananas, and soft bread.

Finn enjoys some tasty Greek green beans inspired by her Uncle Al and Aunt So-So.
She also was a fan of our newly-discovered Blueberry and Buttermilk Falls Smoothie (from the Moosewood cookbook), inspired by her Aunt Anna and Aunt Morgan.  We highly recommend this delicious concoction:  frozen blueberries, buttermilk, and maple syrup (and we added thawed frozen tofu for wonderful texture and protein).
