we went for the 'big' ultrasound today. here is a selection of the pictures we got. when gina finished with the whole thing and turned on the lights, she gasped and told us we had to hide our pictures from the general hospital population as she wasn't allowed to print out so many pictures. we dutifully hid them in a book until we got home. here are the highlights:
on the right, you can see the bum and extending toward the left are two legs. the one on the bottom is more recognizable.

this one is my favorite. the profile of the head is clear. there's a hand up by the ear. in the abdomen (about the same size as the head and just to it's right) there are two dark spots. the smaller one is the bladder, the larger is the heart.

everything looks great. it was so fun to see all of the wiggling and kicking. i have to say, though, that remi had the best view. the screen was right next to my head and facing my feet, so at best my view was across the screen at a bad angle. there was a moment when i was sure that it looked like a raccoon.
the heart rate has been a consistent 155 bpm every time it has been measured. it's kidneys looked good, as did the umbilical cord, heart valves, bladder, spine, face and everything else. it weighs 1 pound 9 oz., although how she knew that i have no idea. it does make me want to hold something that weighs about that just to see what it feels like. it's all so exciting!
Cool! It looks just like mine did! I really like the name Nugget. I think you should stick with it. What's the last name(s)? I assume both, but how do you figure who goes first?
